RMS Weekly Review V1:I13

Starting to look like Spring again.

It was a pretty uneventful week here at RMS.

Wednesday, I was out of the building at RESA for a MASSP workshop on the new Teacher Evaluation procedures.  This was day two of the workshop.  We received many ideas and samples of evaluations from other districts which we can use when developing our new tool.  We have a meeting coming up at the end of the month where that will be discussed.

Thursday was another day of collaboration with area administrators. At RESA, we have a monthly Wayne County Secondary Principals meeting.  This month’s topics focused on apps for the iPad, digital textbooks, and the State releasing the MEAP scores.  We had time to sit with our colleagues to compare scores and philosophies.

Our ELA teachers are in the midst of creating a Reading class for next year.  They are in the beginning stages of their proposal and are reconvening again in two weeks.  The plan is to have the proposal to the Curriculum Council by April.

Today, I locked myself in the back conference room and crunched data.  With the State releasing the MEAP scores, I was able to compare ourselves to neighboring schools and the State.  I will have that available to everyone soon.  So far, so good.

We are looking forward to our four day weekend.

Have a great week.
