RMS Weekly Review
Volume 1 Issue 4November 11, 2011
The East Wall is complete. They started the work on the roof. I am not sure what all is being done up there but I did hear a leaf blower and the crane was moving.
This has been an event filled week:
Monday and Tuesday, during our district Staff Professional Development days, Riverside staff focused on our School Improvement goals:
- Charlotte Danielson’s “Framework For teaching”
- Reading Strategies in all core subject areas
- Common Assessments
- Informational Outlining
After two full days of professional development, the RMS staff received an exuberant amount of quality information that they could readily use in their classrooms the next day. All-in-all, I felt that it was a productive two days.
Wednesday, Dr. Van and I met with a representative from the Mobile Dentist.

They are scheduled to visit RMS’s students Tuesday, December 13th.
Friday, 7th and 8th graders had the pleasure of having a traveling production company come to RMS. The name of this play is "Encore!" and it is put on by Chamber Theatre Productions. The play consists of: "The Raven," "The Tell Tale Heart," "The Monkey's Paw," "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow," "The Necklace," and "The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County"-- several narratives that we directly teach or refer to in 7th and 8th grade ELA.
Next Week:
Monday - 5 - 6:30 PM - Title Curriculum Night
Tuesday/Thursday - 7:30 - 8:00 AM - Walking with the Principal
